Originally released in 2012, the SOCOM Series suppressors were selected by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) after one of the most rigorous suppressor evaluations ever conducted. These suppressors demonstrated strong performance in reducing sound, flash, and dust signature, while also meeting strict safety and durability standards. Since then, they have been widely adopted by military and law enforcement agencies in the United States and allied NATO countries.
In 2015, the SOCOM2 series was introduced. While performance improvements over the original SOCOM models were modest, manufacturing efficiency increased significantly through the use of computer-controlled laser welding. This advancement reduced production time and cost, allowing for a more affordable product without sacrificing quality.
SOCOM2 suppressors are constructed from high-temperature alloys and stainless steel, and feature an updated internal venting system to help reduce back pressure and, in some cases, further improve sound reduction. The most noticeable visual difference is a recessed end cap.
The attachment system remains unchanged between SOCOM and SOCOM2 models. They are compatible with SureFire’s SOCOM Fast-Attach® muzzle devices, including 3-Prong Flash Hiders, Muzzle Brakes, and WARCOMP adapters, and are suitable for a wide range of weapon systems—from carbines to machine guns. These suppressors are designed to produce minimal and consistent point-of-impact shift compared to unsuppressed firing.
All SureFire SOCOM suppressors are manufactured in the United States and undergo strict quality testing. Each unit must maintain accuracy within 1 MOA of the host weapon’s unsuppressed performance.
